Charley The Barber

In Cagayan De Oro the crew were in need of some haircuts. Claudio let me cut his hair. I think I did a good job.

Top Gunner

Heading over to Cebu, we were lucky enough to join a navy ship on patrol. We had a great afternoon on the ship. Real toys for boys stuff!

Straw Transport

Another awesome little machine we came across. Probably the only bamboo car in the world…

McCarthur Landing

This monument at Red Beach marks the spot where Geberal douglas McCarthur landed in 1944 with the American Liberation Forces.

Skate

These homemade forms of transport called skates are made to run on the old train tracks.

Cockfighting!

Cockfighting is big business in the Philippines so we had to go and check it out. But it's not something that I would rush to see again anytime soon.

Hammer Time

Another of the wonderful examples of the Filippino ingenuity. These are called ‘Hammers’. They are Nissan 4x4’s made to look like a Hummer. We took this stretched one for a ride into Manila. A real treat after the ‘skate'.
