Dirtbiking Taiwan Style
TAs we crossed Taiwan from west to east we met up with some local bikers that took us on one of the most awesomely unexpected rides through some of the countries wilder road. The scenery was incredible, some really great gorges and river.
Solar Eclipse
We were also lucky enough to see a partial solar eclipse while we were in Taiwan, The full eclipse was visible from next door Japan, but it was still a pretty awesome thing to see. It was the longest lasting solar eclipse that will occur in the twenty-first century, and will not be surpassed in duration until June 13, 2132.
Scooter Man
As Taiwan produces more scooters than anywhere else on the planet, we decided it would be interesting to visit a factory where they are made. These are just a few of the thousands made each year.
Stair runner
Tower 101 in Taipei is currently the tallest building in the world (soon to be beaten), this guy takes part in the annual race to the top of the 101 floors. Rather him than me !
Surfing
Touch down in Taiwan and straight into a surfing lesson. No rest for the wicked. Although not usually associated with Surfing, Taiwan has some great waves and massive amount of budding surfers.
Paddle Power
When we were passing through Kaohsiung it happened to be the beginning of the World Games, we managed to get aboard the US dragon boat racing teams boat for a quick it of practice
Cricket Fighting
One of the many weird and wonderful things we saw in Taiwan was Cricket fighting. We came across the number one breeder and he offered to show us a match.
Scooter is King
The scooter is king in Taiwan, there are crowds of them everywhere you go. It wouldn’t be right if I didn’t have a go myself.
